Cavani Quartet Bio:
Hailed as passionate and inspiring performers, as well as ambassadors for chamber music, the Cavani String Quartet succeeds like few others in communicating the sheer joy of music making. The quartet has the honor of being a winner of the Naumburg Chamber Music Award, the prestigious Fischoff, Banff, and Coleman competitions as well as being chosen for The Cleveland Quartet Award at The Eastman School. Described by the Washington Post as “completely engrossing, powerful and elegant” the quartet’s impressive thirty year career has garnered significant recognition including the Ohio Governors Award for the Arts, Musical America Magazine’s Young Artists of the Year and the Guarneri String Quartet Award for Artistic Excellence, in both 2005 and 2011, from Chamber Music America. The Cavani Quartet has received an ASCAP Award for Adventurous Programming and has currently commissioned, premiered and performed the music of more than thirty living composers.
