Chamber Music Programs
Fall and Winter registration will be available online beginning August 1, 2014. Fall 2014 programming will include a side-by-side residency with guest artist the Jupiter String Quartet and Brentano String Quartet via our collaboration with Chamber Music Columbus Education & Outreach. Winter 2015 programming will include masterclasses with guest artists the Miro Quartet who will be here to perform with ProMusica,and a side-by-side residency with the Calidore String Quartet (CMC Alumnus violinist Jeff Myers) here to perform on Sundays @ Central series. A bonus side-by-side residency will be held with guest artist Brentano String Quartet in March 2015, again in collaboration with Chamber Music Columbus Education & Outreach.
Students may have multiple performance opportunities. Community public service and end-of-semester recitals are open to all students. Advanced students may apply for the CMC Gig Program and participation in the Conservatory Series. Conservatory Series concerts featuring advanced CMC students, alumni, and professional artists will be scheduled throughout the season.
Enrollment & Tuition
Student Tuition for the general program is $330.00 for each semester, or $630.00 for the combined fall & winter semesters. Due to space restrictions, enrollment is limited. To participate and avoid late fees, registration should be received by August 23, 2014, for the 2014 fall semester, or December 5, 2014, for the 2015 winter semester. The Artistic Director will consider students for acceptance into the program in the order their completed registrations are received. Registrations post-marked after deadline dates require approval by the Artistic Director and a $30 late fee. Your registration is incomplete unless accompanied by tuition. Students will not be assigned to an ensemble without a receipt of tuition unless applying for a needs-based scholarship. A refund, minus a processing fee of $50, will be made with notice of cancellation by August 25, 2013 (fall) and December 15, 2013 (winter). No refunds will be given for cancellations after this deadline. CMC, Inc. reserves the right to cancel this program and return all fees in the event of insufficient registration. If the program is canceled, CMC, Inc. will not be responsible for any losses incurred by registrants. Online registration will begin August 1, 2014.
Conservatory Series concerts featuring advanced CMC students, alumni, and professional artists will be scheduled throughout the season. This season will feature side-by-side residencies with Jupiter String Quartet and Calidore String Quartet. The concerts are free and open to the public. Donations are gratefully accepted. A bonus side-by-side residency will be presented in March with the Brentano String Quartet.
Adult Chamber Music Program
The Chamber Music Connection offers adult programs, coordinated by CMC associate faculty member Leslie Maaser. The fall program will be held in October. Adult ensembles may opt to perform on Wednseday, October 29. For more information, please contact our Adult Program Coordinator, Leslie Maaser
Chamber Music Competitions
Advanced CMC groups may consider participating in chamber music competitions at the state and national level. For more information and scheduled competitions, consult the Artistic Director.
Holiday Musical Tour of Homes Fundraiser
Our fifth annual holiday Musical Tour of Homes in Olde Worthington is planned for Sunday, December 7. This festive fund-raiser includes all who would like to participate—student musicians, parent volunteers, family, and friends.
