Our Philosophy: Connection

The mission of Chamber Music Connection (CMC) is to teach and perform chamber music at the highest level, benefiting students of all ages, backgrounds, and abilities. Our vision is to use chamber music to promote personal and musical growth and development, while building our sense of community and interconnectedness in the lives of our students. By fostering both leadership and collaboration, CMC strives to build skills not only for music, but for life.

What We Offer

  • Opportunities for student musicians of all ages and abilities to build confidence through learning and performing in small groups, with no audition required.
  • Youth chamber music coaching with distinguished faculty members and renowned guest artists designed to improve technique, listening ability, and communication skills.
  • Programming offered during the school year and in the summer, with regular performing opportunities.
  • Youth chamber orchestras and piano ensembles at several different performing levels.
  • Supplemental instruction in crucial musical skills including improvisation, movement, music theory, and arts entrepreneurship.
  • A competitive fellowship program for high school students interested in gaining career experience.
  • Support and training for advanced students ready to enter chamber music competitions.
I have found that in the world of chamber music, (Debbie’s motto), ‘Breathe together, Move together, Play together’ are words to live by. When it comes to being completely engaged with your ensemble, trusting each other and knowing that they have your back as much as you have theirs, there’s no other feeling as comforting and powerful as that.

CMC Fellowship Student

CMC is an inclusive community, which accepts students of all levels without audition requirement, that offers each musician the opportunity to grow in their ability while being inspired by other student musicians and professional artists.

CMC Student

Seeing {the Calidore Quartet} perform was inspirational and their rendition of the Ravel String Quartet brought me to tears. Rehearsing and then performing with them reminded me why I love chamber music so much. Their kindness towards the students and passion for the music made the whole experience one of the best I’ve had at CMC.

It was a really amazing experience to play alongside with this incredible string quartet {the Jupiter Quartet} and have them treat us like equals.
