Conservatory Series

The CMC Conservatory Series concerts feature advanced CMC students, alumni, and professional artists performing side-by-side.

CMC Conservatory Series

The Conservatory Series began in 2004 as a way to connect students and professionals not only in education, but also in performance.

The series also represents a partnership with Chamber Music Columbus, which routinely brings world-famous chamber musicians to town.

These visiting musicians conduct a mini-residency at CMC, during which they prepare a performance with CMC students. This allows students a firsthand experience of how professional musicians rehearse and perform.

Testimonials

CMC Violin Student

“The Calidore Quartet was inspiring to work with. They brought a lot of really positive energy to the challenging pieces we played. Their intricate knowledge of the score, as well as the styles of the pieces helped a lot in playing as an ensemble, as well as being true to interpretation. They may be the best quartet I’ve ever had the pleasure to watch. ”

Rehearsing and then performing with them reminded me why I love chamber music so much. Their kindness towards the students and passion for the music made the whole experience one of the best I’ve had at CMC.”
