The Fellowship Program is an intensive program gearing Chamber Music Connection (CMC) students to be prepared for their professional future in any field. While CMC’s main focus is in chamber music, chamber orchestra, and chamber music pedagogy, CMC also teaches lifelong skills particularly through the Fellowship program.

The CMC Fellowship program is prestigious for career building, preparation for college, alumni relations, and future internships. As the Fellowship Director, Stephanie Price-Wong organizes and prepares workshops for the CMC Fellows which focus on the following but are not limited to:

  • Arts leadership
  • Public speaking
  • Advising
  • Mentorship
  • Administrative skills (including marketing and budgeting)
  • Healthy music making (Alexander Technique, Bodying Mapping, etc.)
  • Alternative music styles (Improvisation, Jazz, Pop, Rock, etc.)

To be a CMC Fellow takes focus, leadership, and college expectations such as answering emails independently, being at CMC for specific hours, representing CMC within the community, and managing multiple responsibilities in and outside of CMC.

fellows 2013

A limited number of applicants may be accepted into the fellowship program. These students are chosen on the basis of their potential contributions to the program: i.e. musicianship, interest in mentoring younger-ability students, instrumentation needs of the program, and willingness to provide administrative assistance beyond scheduled musical activities (i.e. material preparation, classroom preparation, orientation and weekly check-in, assisting in the music library, coaching assistance, office assistance, gig coordinating assistance, PR assistance).

Accepted Fellowship students will receive partial tuition credits. Applicants must be of high school age by the upcoming school year.
